A Southwark blue plaque to Helene Aldwinckle (1920-2020) was unveiled at 76 Farquhar Road, Dulwich, on Sunday 4 September 2022. Helene was a Bletchley Park codebreaker in WW2 and after the war became a broadcaster and later a gallerist. Helene lived in Dulwich from 1979 until 2014. The plaque was unveiled by Southwark Deputy Mayor, Councillor Michael Situ, and Helene's son Richard Aldwinckle, before an audience of family, friends, local residents and representatives from Southwark Heritage Association and the Dulwich Society Local History group.
