The local residents who attended a public meeting on Thursday 12 February were overwhelmingly in favour of a controlled parking zone (CPZ) in the NDT. The implementation of CPZs from Holmdene Road westwards and by Lambeth Council from Herne Hill Road/Denmark Hill westwards has resulted in many more non-residents parking in the NDT area. The council also proposes to implement double yellow lines on all the junctions in the NDT to prevent unsafe parking – this will reduce still further the space available for parking.
The council has intimated that it will confirm at the next DCC meeting on 17 March that they will start a formal consultation process about introducing a CPZ in the area.
