The Charter School Educational Trust has confirmed that it has been given the go-ahead by the Department for Education (DfE) to take the next steps to establish a new Free Secondary School to serve the East Dulwich and South Camberwell communities. The site is not confirmed but it is assumed that it will be on the East Dulwich Community Hospital site on East Dulwich Grove.
The school will be an inclusive, non-selective, non-faith, mixed school for 11-18 Year olds. Its press release says that it aims to provide an outstanding education to pupils from the local community, regardless of their starting points. It is intended that the new school will open to its first Year 7 in-take in September 2016.
