The club won promotion to the National League South on 6th May. The club beat Hendon 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out after a 1-1 draw in the final of the Isthmian League play-offs. The victory ends their five-year stay in the division, and a run of four successive play-off defeats. Promotion comes just two months after they were evicted from their Champion Hill home. There is still no definite information on the future of the club’s ground on Dog Kennel Hill.
The Half Moon in Herne Hill, run by Fuller’s, has been announced as the best pub in Greater London in the National Pub & Bar Awards 2018. The awards were made by Pub & Bar Magazine to outstanding pubs across the country.
The road will be closed for a week beginning 29 May for resurfacing. The official diversionary routes are via West Norwood or Lordship Lane/Dulwich Common. It is half term week but the Council accepts that there will still be a significant impact on local traffic. They considered night works but on balance felt this was too disruptive to residents in South Croxted Road given that it is very much a residential road notwithstanding how busy it is.

The Council have now approved the developer’s construction management plan (CMP), 17/AP/4454 but rejected the application to remove the social housing content from the scheme, 18/AP/0508. The Council have yet to approve the arboriculture method statement, 18/AP/0215, as it seeks to remove some additional trees in the footway.
Unbeknown to the Society, local Councillors, and the Dulwich Park Friends, it appears that Southwark Events have been discussing a large funfair & music event in Dulwich Park on 16-18 June - aimed at children aged 2-12. This will conflict with the planned ‘World Cycling Revival’ event at the Herne Hill velodrome on 14-16 June and the Crystal Palace Festival music show on 16 June. Questions are being asked as to whether this is a good idea given what else is on at the same time.
The following architects had been shortlisted for the competition & models of their schemes will be on view in the Gallery later in the summer.
- Casswell Bank Architects
- e10 Studio
- Flea Folly Architects
- Pricegore with Yinkallori
- Projects_Office
