Tuesday 6th Beyond Words Poetry Group - readings by Adrian al-Sayegh. Conscripted in the Iran-Iraq war, his uncompromising criticism of injustice and oppression led to him being exiled. Later the publication of his book-poem ‘Uruk’s Anthem’ led to him being sentenced to death.
