Ken Jeffries died at the age of 81 on 6th January following a long illness. He was the Dulwich Society’s Honorary Auditor from its foundation until his retirement in 2006, over forty years. He was followed in that office by is daughter Sally-Anne, our current auditor.

Ken was educated at the Royal Hospital School in Suffolk (following its relocation from Greenwich), and like all leavers at that time entered the Royal Navy where he became the youngest seaman in the Pacific Fleet. After naval service he studied accountancy, and was appointed the financial director of a property investment company. In 1962 he founded his accountancy practise in Dulwich, the same year as he moved into Alleyn Park.

Ken was exceeding generous with his time and expertise and was the auditor or treasurer of numerous other clubs and institutions., many of them connected with Dulwich. He was a keen sportsman, fond of tennis and swimming and a keen golfer, becoming President of the Dulwich & Sydenham Golf Club.
